Identify and colour speakers

Review speaker labels

When automatic speaker detection is available, it groups speech into speaker labels. Labels are a draft, not verified personal identities. Overlapping voices and short turns can be assigned incorrectly; listen and review each change of speaker. Availability depends on the processing setup.

Assign and rename speakers

Use the speaker selector on a subtitle line to assign an existing speaker or add a new one. Rename speakers in the Speakers section to labels you recognise. Review all lines assigned to a speaker after changing a label.

Colour by speaker

Enable Colour by speaker and choose a readable colour for each speaker. Preview against the footage. The captioned MP4 carries the colours; plain subtitle-file exports do not preserve the complete editor appearance. Speaker groups also provide the voice assignments for dubbing.
