Edit text, timing and subtitle lines
Correct the text
Open Subtitles and select the line you want to change. Edit the text directly and replay the surrounding sentence. Changes autosave; check for errors before moving away. Keep lines short enough to read without rushing.
Adjust timing
Select a caption on the timeline to move playback to it. Adjust its start and end to match the speech. The waveform can help locate pauses when it is available, but always confirm by listening. Avoid negative times, lines ending before they start and captions continuing beyond the source video.
Split, merge and undo
Use the subtitle editing controls to split long lines or merge adjacent lines. Review both the wording and new timing afterwards. Use undo and redo to recover an editing step. For a separate subtitle file with a constant offset, the subtitle shifter can move every cue together.
