Frequently asked questions

Can I add subtitles for free?

Yes. NewSubtitles Free lets you upload a video up to 10 minutes, generate and edit captions, and export a captioned MP4 up to 720p with a NewSubtitles watermark. Open the editor to try your own video before choosing a paid plan.

How do I export without a watermark?

Pro and Max remove the NewSubtitles watermark and support output up to 1080p when the source supports it. They do not remove watermarks already present in your source video. See export options.

Is downloading SRT free?

SRT, VTT and TXT downloads from a video project require Pro or Max. If you already have a subtitle file and only need to convert or edit it, the separate subtitle tools are free.

Should I choose Pro or Max?

Choose Pro for videos up to 30 minutes at $9/month, or Max for videos up to 60 minutes at $15/month. Both include the same watermark-free exports up to 1080p and subtitle-file downloads. Prices are USD before tax. Max increases the video-duration limit; it does not promise more accurate transcription. Compare plans.

Are video minutes a monthly allowance?

1 free video per day. Pro: 60 processing minutes per month. Max: 120 processing minutes per month. Video length: Free ≤ 10 min · Pro ≤ 30 min · Max ≤ 60 min. New videos per day: Free 1 · Pro / Max 6. 40 processing jobs per day. Monthly export minutes: Pro 180 · Max 360. NewSubtitles.

Will upgrading fix a failed social-video import?

No. A subscription does not make a private, deleted or restricted video accessible. Upload your original file if a social link fails. Check video import for current source availability and recovery steps.

Can I cancel a subscription?

For an active supported subscription, open Plan & billing and use the billing portal when available. Check the cancellation effective date there. Checkout and portal availability depend on the payment setup. See billing help.

Does subtitle conversion upload my video?

The separate subtitle-file tools run in your browser. Video-project uploads use server-side processing and private media storage. See privacy and data before uploading sensitive material.

How long are files kept?

Source videos: 7 days on Free, 30 days on paid plans. Exports: 7 days. Subtitles and styles are kept.

For each full video or clip, only the latest successful export is kept; export history is not available. After a successful replacement, the previous file is deleted after a one-hour download grace period. A failed export keeps the previous file.
